There will be a total solar eclipse on July 11, 2010, visible across a swath of the South Pacific Ocean including Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The path of totality ends in the far south of Peru and Chile.

There will be a total lunar eclipse on December 21, 2010, visible from anywhere in North America and northwestern South America. It will not be visible in Africa, Asia or Europe.

There will be an annular solar eclipse visible across Africa , India and southeast Asia on January 15, 2010. An annular, or "ring of fire" eclipse occurs when the Moon is near its maximum distance from the Earth, and the apparent size of the Moon is too small to cover the Solar disk.
