If someone goes and jumps off a cliff does that mean you should do it too? No. If you feel someone has broken your trust you shouldn't do the same thing just because they did. In addition, things are not always what they may appear to be. It is better to talk to your friend in an effort to fully understand the circumstances. So, I would say it's never alright to break a friend's trust.
