It is necessary for banks to repossess mobile homes if the owners cannot pay the mortgage. Often banks will sell these repossessed homes for a cheaper price because they need to get rid of it fast.

Am looking for repo laws on mobile homes?

You have to look at the laws of the country you are in, or in US the various state laws on repo. Most states do publish these, but many are different. ( if you had said WHERE you are it would have helped.)

How would one go about finding repo mobile homes to purchase?

Several years ago, I did just that to buy the home I now live in. I live near a city that has several mobile home dealerships, and it was just a matter of visiting and talking to several different dealerships, letting them know I was looking for a trade-in or repo. Understand that most of the homes you will be shown will be in terrible condition. Persevere and you will find the home(s) you are looking for. I did. When mobile homes are repossessed, the lender takes back possession of the home. Therefore, your local banks will have listings of mobile homes they have repossessed and are looking to sell quickly.

How many bank repo homes were on the market in 2012?

Only about 10% of the 390,000 bank repo homes available were on the market in 2012 so the market would not be flooded. Therefore only about 39,000 repo homes were available in 2012 even though there were in reality another 90% available.

Is there a stigma on Modular homes?

There is no stigma for modular homes that I know of,but a lot of people are miss informed about modular construction. Most people are confusing mobile homes with modular homes and there is a stigma about mobile homes and mobile home parks. Another confusing part is the term that is used to describe mobile homes. The term "Manufactured Housing" has been adapted by the mobile home industry to alleviate the stigma of mobile homes. Of course uninformed people bundle modular homes in this mix since modular homes are constructed in a manufacturing facility and are transported, but that is where the similarity if any ends.
