That's not how meteor showers work. They don't "hit" specific places; they're visible pretty much everywhere the sky is dark. Tonight (August 13, 2011) is near the peak of the Perseid meteor shower.
no and wish 1does not hit
Lana Lang's parents were killed in episode one of Smallville. Her parents were getting out of their car when the meteor shower hit. A meteor hit right beside them, which killed them instantly, and Lana saw the whole thing.
Yes. You will have a great chance of dieing.
Yes, meteors hit everyday, but burn up in are atmosphere
The friction between dust on a meteoroid and the Earth's atmosphere causes the light to shine, which is a meteor. When lots of meteroids hit Earth at similar times, a significant amount of meteors show in Earth, causing a meteor shower.
Not recordedly but you never know - watch out!
A "meteor shower". (The individual space rocks pulverize or vaporize when they hit Earth's atmosphere.)
The Earth is NOT going to be hit by a meteor on that date, unlike what some people would lead you to think. If a meteor was going to hit, we would have known about it months or possibly years before, and it would be getting constant news coverage.
No the latest meteor to hit was 2004 Australia .
Small meteors hit the Earth every minute of each day. Larger meteors, big enough to be visible, hit the Earth several times each hour. In a "meteor shower", you may see over a hundred meteors an hour. Big meteors, big enough to hit the Earth, happen a few times every day. There are dozens of meteorite museums all over the country. Really big meteors, enough to cause a lot of damage, are fairly rare, fortunately. The last REALLY big meteor landed in Siberia, 100 years ago; it caused as much damage as an atomic bomb! Fortunately, very few people lived in Siberia back then.
You can see meteors on any clear night. There are several occasions throughout the year when there are meteor 'showers'. As you do not give a date we do not know when 'tonight' is. See the link below for a list of some dates for meteor showers.
A falling star is a meteor. A meteorite is a meteor that has hit the ground.
