Sailor moon is no longer on the air because no one has renewed the license to show the series. Since sailor moon is an older anime and since a majority if not all of the episodes have been shown on the air at one time or the other (with the exception of Sailor Stars who has never been licensed in English due to some of it's content being controversial) without high ratings it is unlikely that sailor moon will be coming back to English television.

The "S" is said to stand for "Super," because it is the first season in which we see Sailor Moon gain an upgraded transformation, when she is called Super Sailor Moon. This season is equivalent to the "Infinity" arc of the manga, though it did not have an equivalent in the live action television series (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon). It was, however, utilized in many of the Sailor Moon musicals.
