Every year since 2001 except for in 2003. There is an upcoming event for 2010.
The RuneScape Christmas event is a recurring optional player event within the browser-based MMORPG RuneScape. The event offers a variety of special quests, socialization options, and special rewards for participants.
The Christmas event is sometime before Christmas and continues a few days afterward.
apparently it will come at aound the 20th December or the 23rd at latest.
