Who developed Minecraft?
Minecraft was developed by Markus 'Notch' Persson, a Swedish game developer. Notch began developing Minecraft on May 9th 2009 and its first official release to the public was on May 20th 2009. He developed Minecraft for a year while he had a job, until in June 2010 when he quit his job to work full time on Minecraft. More people began working in Mojang from 2011-13 such as Jens 'Jeb' Bergensten and Nathan 'Dinnerbone' Adams. In December 2011, Notch stepped down from lead developer of Minecraft and gave the role to Jeb. The game was officially released on November 18th 2011 in Minecon 2011. The game is still worked on today, currently in the 1.7.2 update.
