Goldfish do not have a breeding season. They can breed whenever the water is warm enough. In an open pond, this would be in the Spring and Summer months. In an indoor aquarium this can be year-round.

Goldfish of both sexes can be happily put together usually without any problems. During the breeding season male fish may chase the female but in general they are very peaceful.
