He has one of the legendary dragon pokemon (reshiram/zekrom) and you have the other. You two battle at N's Castle, which you get to after you defeat the elite four. Afterwards, you don't see him again, and I'm not in favor of not seeing him again. Out of all the characters, he would be my favorite.
