It appears unlikely the oil spill will affect the eastern coast of Florida. I am not saying that it is impossible, as there is no such thing as 100% certainty with oil spill forecasts.

The oil has in the past 68 days not entered the loop current. This has kept the oil in the gulf. Oil in time degrades and disperses, to the point were the concentration is nearly undetectable.
