In the King James version

the word - yes - appears four times.

The first one is

  1. Mat 17:25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? Of their own children, or of strangers?
Answer:Bearing in mind that the King James most often uses the word "yea" where more modern versions use "yes," the first appearance of the word is in Genesis 20:6 -

King James - And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

New King James - And God said to him in a dream, "Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.
