=>The people gathered at Jalianwala bagh at Amritsar in April,1919 to protest against the Rowlatt Act and British Policies towards the Indian people.General Dyer was sent into control the sittualtion as Martial law had been improved Dyer instead of controlling the situation peacefully ,however dyer ordered his officer to open fire on the weaponless people.

=>This resulted in the col blooded murder of 379 protesting Indian and wounded 1200.This came to be known as one of the worst tragedies in India history.Congress in responses to this incident decided to start non-coporation against the Government.Jinnah opposed this step of the congress and failed to support them in this regard.
