When she turns the computer on.she gets no video and hears a series of beeps the beeps are in the sequence of one long beep followed by two short beeps.what is the problem here?

It sounds like there is a major fault on the mother board.
You don't say if it is a laptop or a desk top.
If it is a laptop then the problem is terminal requiring a new motherboard.
If it is a desk top, it could be that the graphics card is not plugged in properly.
With the computer off, lift the lid and try relocating any cards plugged into the motherboard's PCI slots.
