as long as its not all cracked or isn't making noise dont worry about it and if it is making noises spray a good amount of lubricant on there while its running and after a few mins if it gets noisy again you'll wanna replace it.
It is recommended that you check your belt twice a year. If there are any cracks or it is dried out, it should be replaced.
Echo's made after 1999 have timing chains. The chain should only be replaced when a rattling is audible. If you hear a chirping noise, it is most likely coming from the drive belt or water pump. The drive belt should be adjusted or replaced and bearings lubricated. In general the drive belt and water pump are replaced at the same time, and should be good for at least 80,000 miles.
What do you mean by drive belt. If your talking about the serpentine belt, it should have an auto tensioner. Same goes for the timing belt. There is no adjustment. If the belt is loose then it needs to be replaced. ed724
By 2007, most Toyota vehicles did not have a timing belt. They were equipped with a timing chain, that does not need to be replaced due to a time or mileage limit. If you were more specific with the engine/model, I could let you know for sure. Also their may be an drive belt that is needed to be changed on the outside of the engine. This belt should drive the water pump, alternator, power steering, etc.
Check the serpentine belt for cracking and "checking" by a close visual examination. Look at the "inside" of the belt where it rides on the pulleys. The grooves should not be cracked, or missing ridges on the inside of the belt. Also, check the idler/tensioner pulley bearing for noise/wear. I changed mine when I replaced the spur ( timing ) drive belt and tensioner/idler pulley/shock absorber at 100,000mi. I also replaced the AC compressor drive belt and idler/tensioner pulley at that time.
This truck has a timing chain, not a belt. The chain will last longer than a belt and should not be replaced until it fails.
I replaced an alternator on a 2002 Nissan Altima but the drive belt is now too loose even with it having an automatic belt tensioner
It has a timing belt that should be replaced every 90,000 miles. The water pump should also be replaced as it is driven by the cam belt.
Drive belt(s) is/are not tightened enough would be my first guess.
What you meant to ask is how often should the timing belt be replaced! And the answer is every 90,000 miles for b2000 model.Ok
Belt, tensioner, idler pulley, H2O pump, camshaft oil seal, crankshaft oil seal, oil pump drive seal and gaskets.
The drive belt on the alternator of a 94 Toyota Corolla won't turn if the bearing has seized. The alternator will need to be replaced.
