America ) and couldn't find any information
The Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) shows
( inspect at 120,000 miles , replace as needed )
* but they also have the 2.0 liter four cylinder ( Single Over Head Cam
and Dual Over Head Cam ) engines in a 1998 Ford Escort listed as INTERFERENCE ENGINES , so if the timing belt breaks engine damage will occur
