∙ 14y agoConvention is for you to have your baby shower for your first child. People associate baby showers with Mothers just starting out and as a first timers event.
However in the modern day, while a single baby shower is expected, there are no hard rules. You might have a baby shower for your first child of each sex. Boys and girls have different needs starting out.
It may also be ok if you are expecting multiple children or when having children with special needs. In these cases people may be more sensitive to the extra help you'll need.

∙ 14y agoWhen both the father and mother are mentally ready to provide all means necessary for a child and are willing to give up certain lifestyles, habits and routines that you have. You are financially stable enough to give your child a comfortable life. You will need to have a living place big enough and suitable for a child. Make sure you have good health insurance. And make sure the relationship between the mother and the father is stable enough that the child will not suffer.
