I have Huskies pups right now & have had them before. It takes between 7 to 14 days for their eyes to open. The average is around 10 days. The eyes are usually blue at first then they can change to brown or stay blue.

Its because when you get up in the morning your eyes are used to the darkness and when you open them suddenly and turn the light on they havent adjusted yet. so they burn for a little while, or at least untill your eyes have adjusted/got used to the light yet
because as your eyes are getting used to being closed and in the dark for so long they tend to want to stay that way. that's why you have to force them open.
