A metal clamp handtool that has a smooth side and a side with many pins. The pins are arranged in the shape of numbers and letters, i.e. 1A or A1, or BR12, etc., typically the owner decides what numbers are to be used. The tool is clamped onto the ear flap, with the pin side on the inside of the ear, and then squeezed firmly to puncture the goat's skin. Sort of like piercing the goat's ear 30 times at once (the pins on the press don't actually go completely thru the goat's ear flap.) Then the clamp is removed and blue, black, or red dye is rubbed into the holes left by the clamp. Typically this is done when the animal is still young.
More valuable animals are usually tattooed with an actual tattoo gun. These tattoos are placed inside the lip (race horses) or inside the groin area (dogs, llamas, etc.) The animals are tattooed this way because of dishonest people who would cut off a tattooed ear flap without hesitation to avoid being caught.

a boer goat is a goat that kids or adults show at goat shows, whether shows and you can make money if you win grand champion, reserved champion, (2nd place) and 3rd place. A Boer goat is a breed of goat that was originally from South Africa. They typically have a reddish-brown head and a white body. Males (called bucks, not billies) are typically around 200-400 pounds and females (called does, not nannies) are usually around 150-300 pounds.
