When the car get hot it loses power and wont go but when it cools down its fine?

When this has happened to me for thing to check or get checked is the thermostat, If this is broken or not working properely your car will over heat and can not cool itself. Go to a local Auto Parts store and get a new thermostat and if your having trouble finding it or putting it in they might be able to help.

If it starts back up and runs fine for a few minutes the loses power, it could be fuel starvation, check the fuel system for pressure, and change the fuel filter. If it starts up with the loss of power, and the engine has to cool down before it runs fine again it could be something electrical that is overheating and breaking down. Check the ignition coils.
