If you pull the dipstick out and look at the oil, if it seems a dark green and quite see-through, then it is good, if it is black and can't be seen through, then it needs to be changed

If you have 'mayonnaise' type white tinge in your oil you should have the head gasket checked. There could be a serious problem.

If the engine is running rough, it could be any of: coil (poor voltage), distributor dirty, high tension leads dirty or damaged, spark plugs incorrectly adjusted, dirty or damaged, valve timing incorrect, fuel mixture too rich or too lean (incorrectly adjusted carburettor), clogged or old air filter, clogged fuel filter, blocked exhaust or contaminated fuel.
