I think its wierd that he/she said not to use warm salt water. Ask that doctor or someone else to make sure, as your case may be different then most, but after Oral surgery, Saline (Salt water) is used to rinse and clean out the pocket.

Hydrogen Peroxide 3% (in the US, the proper medical concentration) is not a controlled substance and should be available from any drug store/chemist, for very little money. The formula is H2O2. Note that industrial concentrations are dangerous -- no more than 3% H2O2 to H2O.

What will happen if you mix a chemical with a hydrogen peroxide?

Nothing too bad! When I bleach my hair, I put a little hydrogen peroxide in with the mix. I see a difference in whiteness when I do and don't use hydrogen peroxide. It gets it a lot whiter. However, hydrogen peroxide is DAMAGING to hair! If you're going to use it, poke a small hole in the film of a new bottle and only use a couple squirts! You have to be careful, because it can damage your hair and scalp. Keep and eye on it. And when you're done bleaching, deep condition the hell out of your hair! Good luck!

Would drinking a little bit of hydrogen peroxide help to get rid of strep throat at all?

What would happen if a drop of blood were added to a solution of hydrogen peroxide?

It depends on how much you have swallowed and what the concentration of the hydrogen peroxide was (the percentage should be printed on the label or bottle). For 3% concentrations, a capful won't bother you but more than a few tablespoons may irritate your mouth and throat and cause abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. If the concentration is higher than 3% or you have swallowed a lot, you should see a doctor.
