It does not matter, when testing a generator with a resistive load bank, if you load it to kVA or KW. For a resitive load, i.e. non-reactive load, the power factor is one, so kVA and kW are the same.

What is a stirling engine generator?

A Stirling engine generator falls into the category of external combustion engine. This type of engine converts heat energy to mechanical work by compressing and expanding air or other gas.

It's an electric locomotive with it's own diesel driven generator.

Can a 400hz generator head be converted to60hz?

One could slow the generator shaft RPM down by a factor of 6.66 as these generator heads are usually mechanical and driven from a gas or diesel engine.

How do you turn a 1964 Lincoln welding machine into a big generator?

It's an engine driven generator like a Ranger, correct? They already come set up to be used as either welding machine or generator when they come from the factory.

What are the differences between a car engine and a generator engine?

Technically nothing. They are both internal combustion engines. One is driving a transmission and a vehicle and the other is driving a generator. A generator is used to to produce DC current, that is driven by an electrical AC motor, Hench the term Motor-Generator applies. An engine uses it's own source of fuel, Gasoline, for it's power source. Never call a ENGINE a MOTOR..........

Where is the Alternator located on a 1999 Cadillac eldorado?

I have no idea about this specific car, but the alternator in general is an electrical generator which is driven off the engine's crankshaft. It will normally be at one end of the engine and driven by a belt - it is easily identified as it is about the size of a pineapple and is surrounded by coils of wire.

When was the first hybrid car invented and by who?

1898 by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. The car was driven by electric motors in the wheel hubs and utilized a gasoline engine to turn a generator.

Why does the generator produce electricity?

Because it is rotating a coil of wire in a magnetic field, and this produces an electric current. It has to be driven by some sort of mechanical engine, which provides the input power.

Where was the original location of the generator on a 1952 Chevy truck with a six cylinder?

Drivers side of engine, up front, belt driven, along with the water pump from the crank pulley.
