The AlphaSmart 3000, a portable word processor popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, typically ranges in price from about $50 to $150 on the secondhand market, depending on its condition and whether it includes original accessories. Prices can vary based on demand and rarity, especially among collectors. New units are no longer manufactured, so availability is primarily through resale platforms.

Yes - we use these for partially sighted people, and they are a great little unit. Bought 5 second hand at online auctions - all keyboards 100%. But just bought another one - and behold - the sticky key syndrome. Pressing exactly in the centre of any key works, but if you press to left, right, top or bottom of key. the result is erratic and displays obvious and highly annoying resistance. Renders the AlphaSmart unit unusable actually. Be cautious using silicone or other spray - about to try the Vaseline treatment described elsewhere.
