How do you reset a NEO Alphasmart?

To reset the AlphaSmart 3000 or NEO to factory defaults:

1) Turn the AlphaSmart/NEO off.Note: Unlike the AlphaSmart 3000, NEO cannot be reset when it's plugged in via AC adapter.

2) Press and hold the and keys.

3) While holding the and keys, turn the unit on by pressing the key. (if you only have an AC Adapter, hold these keys while you plug it in)

4) When the dialog "Are you sure you want to reset the AlphaSmart...?" appears on the screen, press Y (for yes).

5) Enter the reset password: tommy

6) Press .

7) If you did it correctly, you should see "Initializing SmartApplets..."

8) If you did it incorrectly, it will take you right back to the last file you were in and you will need to try again.

To reset a NEO Alphasmart device, you can press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the screen goes blank. Afterwards, release the power button and turn the device back on to complete the reset process.
