The scientific name for the family of American paddlefish is Polyodon spathula. They are only one of two modern species of the Paddlefish family Polyodontidae, a primitive ray-finned fish. In some areas paddlefish are also known as "Spoonbill" or "Spoonies."
Paddlefish snack on each other cause they love the tasty good sensation of the paddlefish... they may eat plants an some other kinds of fish... but who nows not me!
Chinese Paddlefish
The Baiji, or Yangtze River Dolphin, was declared functionally extinct in 2006. The Chinese Paddlefish is also believed to be functionally extinct.
Paddlefish live in North America. They can be found in the Mississippi Basin and prefer backwaters, bow lakes, big islands and bridge pilings.
