The Three Kings (Los Reyes Magos) are part of Christian culture in the US as in other Christian countries. Historically, 'el Dia de Los Reyes Magos' (3 Kings' Day), or Twelfth Night as it is known is as significant in the US, as elsewhere, as Epiphany, but not celebrated with figures representing Los Reyes Magos giving presents to children on 6th January; however, with the increase in the Hispanic population of the US, this custom is spreading.
In Irish Gaelic it was usual to say Dia linn or "God with-us".

It's the day of the dead! Dia de los Muertos ("day of the dead" Spanish) is a holiday celebrated all over the Latin world from October 31 to November 2. Where I come from it is only celebrated on the first of November, but it is actually a few days long. It is a holiday to honor the dead. Every day we celebrate birth and life and mourn death. Dia de los muertos gives us a day to celebrate that birth and life for those who are now dead. There are many rituals and traditions for different areas and families which you can look up in many places. Mostly there is a procession to the local graveyard where people spend the night with their loved ones (alive and/or dead) reciting prayers for the loved ones. Altars are established at the grave sites with pieces of memorabilia and/or favorite consumables of the deceased in order to promote further visitations from the spirit of the deceased. It can be seen as ghoulish or grotesque - a lengthened Halloween - but it is actually a solemn occasion in which we remember those we love who are no longer with us. And, of course, being Latino, they don't mourn for long. Life is too short to waste away in tears. Canta y no llores. lol
