Gerald Rudolff Ford died on 1962-01-26.
Gerald Rudolph Ford was the 38th President of the US.
Gerald Ford changed his middle name from Rudolff to Rudolph when he was 22 years old.
He was born Leslie Lynch King, Junior but his mother separated form his abusive birth father when he was 2 weeks old. When Ford was three, she remarried a man named Gerald Rudolff Ford, and they informally referred to the toddler "Gerald Rudolff Ford, Jr." He went by this name from then on, though he did not legally change it until 1935, when he was 22 years old. At that time, Ford chose to spell his middle name as "Rudolph" instead of Rudolff. It's widely recognized that Jerry Ford was the only US President under the Constitution never to have won the presidency or vice-presidency in a national election. What is less frequently recognized is that Jerry Ford is the only US President under the Constitution to have ever been a "King" (very big grin!).
Gerald Ford was born Leslie Lynch King Jr. on July 14, 1913, to his father Leslie Lynch King Sr. and Dorothy King, formerly Dorothy Ayer Gardner. His parents separated shortly after his birth and divorced that same year. On February 1, 1916, Dorothy married Gerald Rudolff Ford, and changed the future President's name to Gerald Rudolff Ford, Jr. The future president was never formally adopted, however, and he did not legally change his name until December 3, 1935; he also used a more conventional spelling of his middle name, Rudolph.

Not directly. They may have shared a distant ancestor named Ford. At any rate, "Gerald" was not related by blood, because his biological father was Leslie Lynch King, Sr., for whom he was named. When his mother remarried, he was not legally adopted, and he did not legally change his name to that of his stepfather (Gerald Rudolff Ford) until 1935. He had three half-brothers who were born Fords.
