India does not have any national language.
The official language of the Republic of India (used for parliamentary and legal affairs) is Hindi, and its subsidiary official language is English. A national language is a language which has some connection with a people and perhaps by extension the territory they occupy. Hindi isn't technically an Indian language because it was inherited from the Mughals and hence, is one of the newest languages in the country.

No..

Article 343 of the Constitution of India specifies that the "Official language" of India is Hindi in Devanagari script, with English as an additional language for official work. Article 345 states that a state of India may officially adopt one or more languages in use in the state or Hindi / English for use in official purposes of that state. India also grants official status to 22 other languages some of them having speakers of more than 70 million.

See, Hindi in Devanagari script and English are just "Official Languages" of the central govt. There is no "National Language" as such for India. Hindi as India's National Language is a misconception.

No. Hindi is one of the official languages and it is a lingua franca (A language used to communicate when two people do not know each other's languages), but it is not actually a national language.

It's a common mistake to confuse national languages with lingua francas.

What is the word BANDI in Hindi?

Bandi is actually an Urdu word. Most of the words that are popularly known as Hindi are in fact Urdu. People of the sub-continent now a days speak Urdu which sometimes incorrectly called Hindi. Bandi literally means "Woman". In modern day language, it used as a slang for a lady, woman or a girl. It is not offensive rather a bit casual way to refer to a person. The male counterpart is "Banda" It would be wrong to say most of the words are Urdu. Indian language in Nort India also got influenced by the language of the Rulers that was Pharsi and a new language was born called Urdu. It is a mix of Hindi, Sanskrit and Pharsi.
