Pacific Garden Mission was created in 1877.
The man famously saved at the Pacific Garden Mission was Mel Trotter. His transformation from a life of alcoholism and despair to one of faith and service is well-documented. After receiving help at the mission in Chicago, he became a prominent evangelist, dedicating his life to helping others find hope and redemption through faith.

Yes, each mission has a garden. Even the smallest. My favorite is Padua which is located in a valley of old oaks and it's gardens is small. You can hear Eagles cry and other birds. I take a sack lunch to sit in the garden with the mission cat.
