The Xerox Notetaker computer was never introduced, in the sense of it being sold to the public. It was an internal Xerox PARC project started in 1978 and cancelled in early 1980 after only a few prototypes had been built.

∙ 14y agoIn 1937, the process called Xerography was invented by American law student Chester Carlson. Carlson had invented a copying process based on electrostatic energy. Xerography became commercially available in 1950 by the Xerox Corporation. Xerography comes from the Greek for "dry writing".
The first fully automatic, plain paper copier using the xerographic process was introduced by Xerox Corporation in 1959 as the Xerox 914. However, earlier products using xerography included the 'Flat-plate 1385' (Model B) , released in 1950 and the Copyflo microfilm printer, first released in 1955.
