When was craftsman 917.292481 tiller made?

i have a 917.299020 14" tiller and hasqvarna makes that one i bought a couple weeks ago. will be buying a drive chain for that instead of the crappy one that sears sends me that keeps breaking. just look at the model and the specs and the part diagrams and you will be able to tell. they make a large amount of sears craftsman tillers

Not to say that this is the final say, but the manual has a 1998 print date. The engine is a Briggs and the Code on the blower housing will tell you when engine was built in the form of YYMMDDSS where YY is the last two digits of the year, MM the month, DD the day of the month and SS is the shift and factory.

My tiller is a 917.29311. It is four years old. (2005) Your 917.299751 must be a newer machine than mine. DAL

My operators manual is dated Oct-1998, which was the last year for this model, but it was manufactured a few years before that.
