four old men playing a game of horseshoes. the men symbolize something, but i don't know what it is, so if you do could you please tell me? the whole poem is really just describing them playing a game of horseshoes and really nothing else.
It sets up the poem, the first thing you see or should see / imagine is a group of old men playing a child's game.
Someone can recycle old horseshoes by giving them to friends or family. Most people are happy to receive such gifts. Otherwise, one can make a post of Craigslist asking if anyone wants used horseshoes, and he will most likely receive an immediate reply.
