In the late 80's Rupert Murrdoch started Sky Television and, in the early 90's was rivalled by a company called BSB. The BSB system was far inferior, but as a safety policy, Murrdoch and Sky purchased BSB to get them out of the frame and transfer most services to the Sky TV line up.
Once the two had merged, Sky TV Broadcasting became BskyB and now transmits and receives TV transmissions around the globe, from the UK, Europe, Africa and Asian countries.
