People were breeding 'Quarabs' long before the first breed registry formed in 1984, the first registry closed however and the international Quarab horse Association formed in 1999 and is the leading registry for the breed.
The off spring would be 3/4 Quarter horse but would not be a breed. Actually, if the Quarab (QH x Arab) is registered with the Quarab horse registry and the QH/PH was registered as a PH, then you could register the offspring as Quarab or Painted Quarab (a Paint horse version of the Quarab. By the way, the registry of Quarabs has reasonable prices and you can look up it on the internet.
a quarab
It really depends on the breed of the mare and stallion. Normally, the foal would just be a cross breed, but, for example, if you bred a quarter horse and an Arabian, the foal would be classed as a Quarab. Or, if you breed a warm blooded sport horse with an Irish Draught horse, the foal would be classed as an Irish Sport Horse. Hope this helps! :)
An Arabian can be crossed on any other breed to get a derivative. There are some breeds that were created from crossing Arabs with another breed and then breeding the offspring together, such as the Anglo-Arab, Pintabian, Morab, Quarab, Welara and a few others. The Arabian Horse Association also has a registry for any half-Arab horse.
You will get a Painted Quarab. Quarabs are QH bred to Arabians with a split of gentetics anywhere between 1/8 to 7/8 percent. Since Paint horses stem from QH and share many of the same qualities in build and personality, Paint Quarabs are like a sub-division in the Quarab breed. No other breeds (for example: Thoroughbreds or Percherons) are allowed to be in the lineage, or else you will not be able to register the offspring. The Quarab registration fees are extremely reasonable by the way.
It depends on what you want. I think an Arab/Quarter Horse cross (known as a QuarAb) is one of the best. But it really is personal taste. And what you want to do with him. Arabs and Quarter Horses are both very versatile. But so are many other breeds. I think the Quarter settles the hotter temperment of the Arabian and you get a good middle-ground horse.
No a Piston is not a breed of horse.
The breed of horse is a Thoroughbred, it is the horse that the cars are named after.
a yealand pony or horse is a breed of horse
Some people believe that the Arabian horse is the most beautiful breed in the world and want to try and make other breeds look like the Arabian. With some breeds such as the Miniature horse, Pintabian, Morab, Quarab, and other Arabian based breeds it's not such a bad thing as the Offspring are often supposed to reflect a high degree of Arabian blood, but in other breeds it takes away from true type and causes confusion of what the breed was originally supposed to look like. In instances where the breed is not supposed to look like an Arabian it is best to discourage breeders from attempting to make the breed look like something it is not as it causes a lose of type and genetic diversity.
The largest breed of horse tends to be the percheron but other large horse breeds are drum horse, shire, clydesdale, Friesian, or really any draft breed.
A pony. Even if the breed's a horse breed not a pony breed.
