The First Sacagawea Dollars have the date 2000 on them. A number of them were actually minted in late 1999, for early release in the year 2000.
The design has been minted every year since. Only those dated 2000 and 2001 were officially released for circulation. Other dates were sold only in special sets. Some people bought large numbers of the special sets hoping to make a profit. When that never happened, some of the sets were broken up and spent so occasionally these later-date dollars will turn up in change.
It varies but the original sacajawea coin had a flying eagle on the front and then a picture of sacajawea with a baby on the back, the baby is in some sort of "back pack" thing.
