Unfortunately, the letter I in a circle does not help date the rifle. Company mark. These little rifles are somewhat uncommon (the Crackshot was more common) They were made between 1911-1930. Would NOT shoot modern high velocity ammo- but standard velocity, shorts or CB caps should be fine- but not Stingers or Yellow jackets. You rilfe was also known as a Stevens Model 12.
Crosman does not own Marksman. Crosman made a Repeatairmodel and Marksman made a Repeater model. See the link below for the Marksman Repeater owners manual.
Marksman made several models. Which one are you asking about.,
French made
They are made in China. Beeman sells them here in the USA. Beeman owns Marksman
It is a Stevens Crackshot that was made for HSB&Co, a hardware distributer in Chicago. Evidently, Revonoc is Conover spelled backward. The HSB rifles usually had a better finish that the standard Stevens. I have seen both Crackshot, Marksman and Little Scout 22 &32 rifles with this name. Stevens also made rifles for Sears and Montgomery Wards and put their brand names on them.
1955
THE MARKSMAN MODEL 740 air rifle was introduce in1970. It was discontinue in 1977.
There have been several models of the marksman repeater. The first one was made in 1955
The letter "D" is the mint mark for the US Mint in Denver, Colorado.
That patent date identifies a Stevens single shot.
No way to answer with just the information given. Who made it?
My sources tell me that production years are letter coded in the number letter combo stamped on the bottom of the reciever. Codes start with A = which equals 1949. I just picked one up stamped M and the listing said it was made in 1960. So I would guess that yours is circa 1959.
