I am not sure about the answer of this question. However, the city of Babylon and Nineveh have dated since around 3,500 B.C. Civilizations in ancient Greece, Mesoamerica, India, and Italy may have possibly created a true city beforehand. The first city, if you include villages, would be during either the Neolithic or the Old Stone Age. These villages have no writing form and have little culture, along with no name. However, these were the true ancestors to modern cities.
