1875 was the stronger earthquake in Ohio

The Anna (Shelby County) earthquake on March 9, 1937 was the strongest earthquake to strike Ohio. Few seismographs were available at that time; however, based on the felt area of the earthquake and the damage that occurred in Anna and surrounding communities, the U.S. Geological Survey assigned a magnitude of 5.4 to this earthquake. This is from the ODNR Division of Geological Survey - OhioSeis Network
