u look in the box it came from (improvement) The manufacturer of your lawn mower can be determined by both the name on the unit and the model number. For instance, if it is labeled "Ace Hardware super duper cutter" it is likely made by MTD. MTD produces the majority of the private label push mowers on the market, Murray also produces some. I found the label to be on the mower bed on the left, looking at the mower from the handle side,and just past the engine. Model number was damaged but the Serial number was clear. The name of the Mfg was McDonough Power Equipment Co.
A model number is required just to know what brand (who made it) and then the rest of the mower.
Toro push lawn mower are assembled mostly in mexico ; with some assembled in windom mn. With most of the parts being made at toro component parts plant in shakopee mn.
