Most of the myths and stories involving Hercules are adventures, and in this way are no different from the usual sort. If you are referring to the television series "Hercules: the Legendary Adventures", then the answer is that aside from actually containing some of the same people, the TV series and the actual myth have very little in common. The main difference is in the character of Heracles himself. In the show, Hercules is presented as humble, caring and otherwise agreeable. He is tormented by Hera who took away his wife and children. The mythic figure was anything but. He was arrogant, careless, and killed his own family (though he was driven to do so by the Furies, sent by Hera). In fact, the only truly common point between the two is the fact that Hera hated him.
