Most of the answers to this question have to do with the 2012 Mayan precdiction of the end of the world. There are many, many, many other predictions that take time to find out, but here are a few of the main predictions: December 21 2012 marks the end of the world, ending it with major catastrophes such a earthquakes (among the many) There are going to be floods, bringing the end of the "word of God" for 10 consecutive years A magnetic field shift will happen to the Earth, causing a reverse polarity of the planet The Earth will collide with an asteroid or a comet
Many people have predicted many dates for the end of the world. Obviously, so far they have all been wrong--except that there are still predictions about future dates. We won't know for sure that these are wrong till the time comes and passes. See the related link for a list of doomsday predictions.

Stop thinking that the world is going to end in 2012. Don't be fooled by the movie 2012. That movie was just called 2012 to trick people into thinking that the world was going to end. They just want to get money out of you. Nobody on Earth knows when the world will end, but God. Some have tried to make predictions about the world ending, has never been right. Some peple actually believe that California will fall into the ocean. I thought that the world would end, but then i read the bible, The bible says the complete opposite.
The ancient Mayans and the Hopi Indians have doomsday predictions for the year 2012.
Quite a few most likely, the only two I can think of is when the meteor crashed into the earth and killed the dinosaurs, and in Y2K.

There are many websites that offer to predict future stock prices. Predictions are based on previous stock price movements and past returns. These predictions, however, are not very accurate.
2012 will be the world falling towards the sun.
As with previous predictions of the end of the world, far too many gullible and ignorant people will believe charlatans. It would be impossible to put an exact number.

...to make predictions. Scientists will then compare their predictions to what happens in the real world. If their predictions equaled what happened in reality, the model is good. If the predictions were different, the scientists know they have to refine the model to better predict what will happen.
