Barack Obama had two inauguration ceremonies. After he won the 2008 election, his first inauguration occurred on January 20, 2009. His second inauguration (he was re-elected in 2012) took place twice, because the 20th of January fell on a Sunday in 2013, which was a holiday, and government office buildings were closed. So he had a private swearing-in on the 20th, and then the public ceremony was held on the 21st of January 2013.
