Around 2600 years ago, the Assyrians forcibly exiled the Ten Israelite tribes to points unknown; hence "lost." A small percentage of each of these tribes is still among us, but most of them were exiled and didn't return.

The show airs in the US on Wednesdays.
During most of the First Temple era, the twelvetribes of Israel were divided into the two kingdoms of Judah and Israel. Judah had two tribes, while Israel had ten. The ten tribes of Israel were exiled to points unknown, by the Assyrians, and are now lost to us. The two tribes of Judah, however, constitute the majority of the Jewish people today, with the addition of the Levites and a small number of each of the ten lost Israelite tribes (who had joined Judah before their exile).
Five-Civilized Tribes
There are 565 FR Tribes in the US with 229 FR Tribes in the State of Alaska.
there are about 50 of them in the us.
Where the kingdom of Israel was destroyed by foreign invaders and its people scattered, the identities of the legendary Twelve Tribes were seriously compromised and it became customary to speak of these as "lost." In recent years, some folks in places rather remote from Israel have been noticed as practicing Hebraic customs, some of these people even identify themselves as one or more of the "lost tribes." However, cultural diffusion is a tricky thing, as ideas can be passed on without exchange of the actual people. New sciences such a genetic profiling may someday give us a more definitive answer on who belongs to the "lost" tribes.
Yes, the Algonquin Tribes were in Canada and the United States.
