the world is divided into 4 eras : SATYUG, TRETAYUG, DWAPARYUG, KALYUG.
Time of each era is half the age of previous era. So Kalyug time is half the period of Dwaparyug. Hence world will end on completion of time of KALYUG. Lord Krishna said that Kalyug will work only for 5000 years which started on death of Lord Krishna whereafter there was heavy rain for 7 days. How many years Kalyug have completed is still unpredictable.

∙ 13y agoHindus do not believe in one-time creation and destruction of the universe. We believe, it is cyclic. After destruction, the universe is created again. The following are the cycles:
Naimittika Pralaya: Every 4,320,000,000 years. That is equal to a day of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe.
Prakritik Pralaya: Every 311,040,000,000,000 years. That is equal to the life-time of a Brahma. At the end of this period the Supreme God creates another Brahma, the creator God.
But then there are two more kinds of dissolutions (Pralaya). They are:
Atyantik Pralaya: That is when a human achieves deliverance. For him, then there is no birth and death, and,
Nitya Pralaya: Sleeping state, when the universe does not exist for one.
