The 1989 Ford Mustang 302 cubic inch engine has an oil capacity of 4 quarts. The engine oil should be changed every 7000 miles or every three months.
Ford recommends every 60,000 miles ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 3.8 liter V6 engine in a 2000 Ford Mustang has a timing CHAIN
There will be differences with the input shaft, and possibly bell housing, it depends on the transmission model and engine you are trying to match up, not every 1990 had the same engine or transmission. Good news is that no matter what you decide you want there is a conversion kit available, just check out the mustang mod sites.
The GT mustang was manufactured in 1965 as an extended option for that model year, with a 289 hi-po engine, special badging, and a special interior. Since then, almost every generation of mustang has had a GT trim level, featuring a V8 motor standard

Someone said "2,800 RPM" ... the engine could turn that fast (maybe as fast as 3,000 RPM). BUT...because every major piston/prop warplane of WWII had a reduction gear feature, with an engine turning 3,000 RPMs, the fastest that a propeller on a Mustang with a Merlin engine would turn was around 1,400 RPMs. A typical Merlin on a P-51 Mustang had a gear ratio of just below 0.48:1. That meant that for every revolution of the engine's crankshaft, the propeller turned less than 1/2 of a revolution.
Check the wiring harnesses around the sides of the engine for an intermittent short to ground.
They come in every color
Yes, but you will run into problems unless you want to swap every single piece of wiring harness (even the headlight harness!) and sensors because 87 was a speed density car (engine management system) and did not have air bags whereas the 91 is going to have the better fuel management system and air bags. You are better off looking for a 91+ wire harness esp. if you ever want to upgrade a cam, etc later because speed density computer cannot "learn" and will run like dirt if you do anything to it!Matcheskat
