To see who asked a question and other information, go to the question, and then click question history on the left blue toolbar. It will be the first entry on the bottom (or if it is multiple pages, the bottom entry on the last page). Sometimes, however, the question will be split from another question.
If you are logged in, your username is visible next to the house on the top of the blue bar on the left. If you are not logged in, to see what ID you are given you must first make a contribution and then look in the question history to see what ID you were given. The ID is associated with your IP in the WikiAnswers servers.
If you see an answer by an ID member (ex: ID29486027) it is an unregistered, anonymous user on WikiAnswers.
Other users see your user ID or nick, not your real name.
ID's are users that are not logged in. While WikiAnswers encourages everyone to sign in, not everyone does. Some users may just have a question, and decide to ask it, without logging in. There is nothing wrong with ID's. They are users just like me and you.
An ID is an unregistered WikiAnswers user, and is a guest contributor to WikiAnswers. Any guest is allowed to ask or answer questions, and it is just part of the rules.
ID Names are users that have contributed anonymously, by using their IP Address. Supervisors do not see IDs, but see the IP Address of the contributor.
The email id is not public. He has privacy issues.
If you want to remove every answer that you wrote and do not want your user name (or ID) to appear as the one who made the last edit to an answer to a question, ask a supervisor to get rid of your answers for you. The supervisor will only get rid of your answers if they are invalid as an answer to the question, and will not get rid of the answer if it is a good answer.
nawww id like personal questions
Hello Drewchan, look up your own question, then in the question tools (blue box on the left) click History of Changes.
If the waiter/waitress doesn't ask to see your ID, then sure you can. If he/she does ask to see ID...then no, you can't (unless you have a good fake one).
Contributor ID numbers are anonymous users that are browsing and contributing via an IP Address. Supervisors see the IP Address, and do not see the ID Number. The reason non-members have an ID is because it is a way to track a certain person's contributions when they haven't signed up for an account. The ID keeps their IP address and other personal information private, and acts like a temporary username to track the person's contributions until they sign up for an account on WikiAnswers.
