You feel guilty when you get what you want because you may think you don't deserve it or their are people that need whatever you got more than you do. You may also feel guilty because you were greedy in getting it. There's a more scientific reason, but that's why I feel guilty most of the time. (excluding when I've done something wrong☺)

There are many reasons you could be this way. It could be due to the way you were raised and if your parents had hard and fast rules about being polite this can also be the cause. You haven't found your balance yet. Sometimes being shy can make one nervous and they feel guilty about everything or may feel they aren't earning their way in the workplace or fitting in at school. The next time you want to apologize and you are at fault simply say, "I'm sorry." If you haven't done anything to be sorry about just smile and don't say anything. Like any habit, this new way will become a habit as well. Also learn to form the word "no" if you don't want to do something and don't feel guilty. It took me 40 years to learn that one!
