unless there's a little lock button on it (set it to the unlocked icon) you don't need to worry, just reply with N or No
I am trying to format a dvd/rw disk but it is write protected. how do i unlock it?
Most CDs are "write-protected" when data has been written to them and are not rewritable, or are factory pressed. You cannot write over these as it is physically impossible. no, but you can get a pen and write "format" on the disk and THEN it will be physically possible to write on it :P
I have 2 Centon DataStickPRO 32 GB = The disk is write protected. I want to format them
To Format Pen Drive: 1. Right Click Pen Drive and Select Format Option and Mark the Quick Format to Format your Drive (If it is not working then Format Drive without select Quick Format Option) (Now your Pen Drive will be Formatted) YOU RECEIVE ERROR REPORT THEN 2. Right Click My Computer Icon 3. Under Storage > Click Disk Management 4. Then Right Click The USB Drive and Click Format NOW ITs working
Format any disk with "format /s" option will make it bootable..
The hard plastic case has a slider in it which you can use to open or close the notch as you want. When the notch is open the disk is write protected.
check to make sure the disk is not write protected. there is a little tab on a corner of the disk that prevents overwriting.
Insert it into the drive - the computer will recognise the disk and offer you the best option to format it.
No diskdefragmenter cannot be used to format a partion. It is used to make all the files to get fragmented. Formatting of partition can be done by using disk management option in the computer management
Insert the RW-CD in the drive and right click on the cd drive and select the option as format disk
go to disk utility and you have the option to erase there
There is a small slide-switch on the floppy to write or protect
