Each case is different. Some patients do not need any teeth removed. You can talk about this with the orthodontist before treatment begins.

How long does it take to get braces after all your teeth are pulled?

It depends on the orthodontist's opinion as to the growth of the jaw and the need for space. Sometimes pulling teeth provides more room for the teeth to come in correctly. My children had retainers that changed the shape of their palatte--wore them for a year and their teeth came in nicely. We rotated a screw on the retainer weekly. We skipped the braces after that.

How many teeth do you have to lose for braces?

You need to have lost all of your baby teeth and all of your grown up teeth need to have if not fully but almost fully come in. That is completley false, i have got braces and i have a baby tooth still, what they do is that they don't put a thing on that tooth and they give you 3 months to wobble your baby tooth out.

How do you know if you need bracee?

There are many ways to tell if you need braces. First of all there are different types of "bites" you could have The most common is the over, when your front teeth protrude too far. Second is an underbite, which is when your bottom teeth cover your top teeth. Third is called an open bite which occurs when you have space between you bottom and top teeth when you smile. The most common reason for one to need braces is if they have excess spacing between their teeth. Another reason is if your teeth are "misaligned". Your teeth are "misaligned" when the space between your top teeth is not perfectly aligned with the space of your bottom teeth. One of the last reasons is when your teeth are crowed, which simply means you don't have enough room in your mouth for your teeth! This is fixed one of two ways, braces or getting your teeth pulled most likely followed by braces.
