It depends (no pun intended) on what you both want and what has raised the question. Alternatively, if you are thinking to force him and he does not want to, then it seems unlikely to help your marriage - unless he is willing/wanted to be submissive to you. In that respect it could be part of a D/s relationship, or even as part of a more vanilla Female Led Relationship by extending your control, but is dependant on what the dynamic and agreements there are between you. Some use it for chastity reasons though.
